The
Afan Forest Park
and surrounding area is renowned for its stunning scenery and natural
beauty.
Often referred to as "Little Switzerland", the park has recently become one
of the best mountain
biking
and
walking
areas in the UK.
It
has much to offer in terms of mountain biking, from recreational family
routes, to the more challenging and testing routes for the expert amongst
us. The mountain bike routes are graded into three categories, easy,
medium and difficult, therefore offering something for everyone. The
four main routes comprise of
The Penhydd Trail, The Wall, Whites
Level,
and
Skyline.
Ivy House is
situated between Skyline, one of the most difficult routes which begins at
the Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre and Whites level. The Wall was
recommended in ‘ What Mountain Bike Magazine’ (Dec 2004) as
"one of the ten places to ride before
you die!"
There is also the
Celtic High Level scenic trail. An enjoyable route for the
recreational biker which starts at the Afan Forest Park Centre. There
are many routes planned for the area and we look forward to telling you
about these soon.
Ivy House is accredited by the Welsh Tourist board as walker and cyclists
friendly, and provides a secure lock up and a hose to clean
